Places to Explore in Darjeeling
The oldest monastery in Darjeeling, it was established in the year 1850 by Lama Sherab Gyatso. It houses a 15-foot tall clay effigy of Maitreya Buddha, which was brought from Tibet, along with many sacred scriptures and a temple dedicated to Goddess Kali.
This sunrise viewpoint is one of a kind since it lets you watch the morning sunrise over the iconic twin peaks of Kanchenjunga & Everest. You can hop in a jeep before dawn and reach there by 4:30 to witness the visual artistry bestowed upon by Nature.

HOW TO REACH DARJEELING
To visit Darjeeling, you have to reach the nearest airport (Bagdogra Airport), the nearest railhead (New Jalpaiguri Railway Station) or the nearest bus stand (Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus). After that, any reserved/public vehicle will take to Darjeeling. It is a roughly three-hour journey to cover.
